To ensure the stable operation of the containerized freight index (Europe service) data collection system and the accuracy, authenticity, integrity, uniqueness, and consistency of the data collected by such system, SSE has established a quarterly data verification regime. Under this regime, SSE: (1) verifies each quarter whether the data transmitted by each sample company to the containerized freight index data collection system fall within the specification for freight rates; (2) verifies each quarter the observance of freight rate specification by all sample companies and the operations of the interconnected IT systems; and (3) verifies the production system of each sample company through site inspection or videos. For the verification of B/L information, SSE uses the manifest data from Shanghai port to verify the information on each reported B/L such as the name of the ship, voyage, and ATD, and check whether the shipping schedule complies with the criteria for inclusion.
