According to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2022, as of 

the end of 2021, China produced 3.994 million barrels per day, 

accounting for 4.4% of the global share and ranked sixth in the 

world. It consumed 15.442 million barrels per day2, representing 

16.4% of the global oil consumption and is the second biggest oil 

consumer in the world.
