China’s National Bureau of Statistics reports that in 2022, China 

produced 205 million metric tons of crude oil, an increase of 3% 

year-on-year. Net import reached 508 million metric tons, a yearon-year decrease of 0.97%. The apparent oil consumption was 712 

million metric tons, down 4.43%. The dependence on foreign oil 

was 71.05%, 2.85 percentage points less than the year before.
