As provided in Article 40 of its Clearing Rules, “in the event the 

Member fails to make it up, the following shall apply:

1. If the clearing deposit balance of any internal ledger of the 

Member with the Exchange is no less than zero, the corresponding 

Member or OSP of such internal ledger shall not open any new 

position;

2. If the clearing deposit balance of any internal ledger of the 

Member with the Exchange is lower than zero, the Exchange 

shall implement forced position liquidation or take other 

measures according to the Risk Management Rules of the Shanghai 

International Energy Exchange.”
